Yoga is a physical practice that combines breathwork with isometric poses and flow movements. The goal of yoga Is to increase one's flexibility, strength, and relaxation. Yoga is an excellent activity to perform in conjunction with combat sports as it helps with alignment, mind-body connection, and flexibility. Practicing yoga has become ubiquitous in the past decade and for good reason. The benefits of yoga are immediate and absolutely mental.

Ocelotl Martial Art offers yoga classes to help athletes reach new levels of flexibility so they can increase their mobility and reach. The classes will also focus on building strength as well as helping our students to find a deeper connection with their bodies and minds.

MENTAL ACUITY

Yoga will not only help your body physically, but many people also experience spiritual and mental benefits as well. Meditation is an aspect of yoga so participants who practice often feel a reduction in stress and anxiety and an increase in calmness. Yogis also increase the gray matter in their brains which leads to increased concentration and focus. Try out a class today to test some of the benefits!

LONG-TERM HEALTH

One aspect that students in yoga enjoy is increased mindfulness. During meditation, people are grounded and leave their sessions feeling more present which can help them make everyday decisions that are healthier for their bodies and mind. Meditation in yoga also relaxes the mind which offsets stress, a leading cause of death. Book our class today and enjoy a yoga session in our beautiful gym!
